Bharti Airtel Scholarship 2026-27 is an initiative of the Bharti Airtel Foundation that helps first-year engineering students who would otherwise struggle to pay for their degree. The scholarship covers the full annual tuition fee, hostel and mess fees, and also gives every selected student a laptop and mentorship from industry professionals. It was launched in 2024, and 500 students were selected in 2025-26.

What the Bharti Airtel Scholarship covers
- 100% of the annual tuition fee, as per the fee structure of your institute, for the full duration of the course (up to 5 years, subject to meeting the renewal criteria).
- Hostel and mess fees – fully covered for students staying in campus facilities. Students who live in private accommodation get support equal to the institute’s hostel and mess charges.
- A high-end laptop to help with coursework and projects.
- Mentorship – regular sessions with industry leaders and academic mentors.
- Refundable and security deposits are not covered and stay the student’s responsibility.
The Bharti Airtel Foundation also states that scholars are expected to give back later – after graduating and finding employment, a Bharti Scholar voluntarily supports the education of at least one student.
Eligibility for the Bharti Airtel Scholarship 2026-27
- Admission: confirmed admission or enrolment in the first year (2026-27) of an undergraduate or 5-year integrated course.
- Course: Electronics and Communication, Telecom, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Aerospace, or Emerging Technologies such as AI, IoT, AR/VR, Machine Learning and Robotics.
- Institute: the institution must be among the top 50 NIRF-ranked engineering universities or institutes as per the latest NIRF list.
- Income: the annual income of both parents or guardian, from all sources, must not exceed Rs 8 lakh.
- Nationality: the applicant must be a citizen and resident of India.
- Other scholarships: applicants should not be receiving any other scholarship or grant for the same purpose.
Preference is given to girl students, students with disabilities, students from single-parent or orphaned backgrounds and transgender students.
Documents required
- Government-issued identity proof (Voter ID, PAN card, driving licence, and so on).
- Current year admission proof – admission letter, fee letter or provisional admission letter.
- Class 12 marksheet and the JEE scorecard or university entrance exam scorecard, whichever applies.
- Income proof: latest income tax return and a six-month bank statement (salaried or self-employed parents), or a government-issued income certificate and bank statement (no taxable income or unemployed parents).
- Bank account details and a six-month bank statement of the applicant and the parent or guardian.
- Bank account details of the institute (account name, number, IFSC and branch).
- A recent passport-size photograph.
- Documents of extra-curricular activities, achievements, projects or part-time work, if any.
- Rent agreement or expense receipts if the student stays in rented or PG accommodation.
- A statement of purpose written by the applicant.
