Reliance Foundation Postgraduate Scholarship 2026-27 is open for first-year postgraduate students in engineering and life sciences. Up to 100 students are selected every year, and each scholar can receive a grant of up to Rs 6 lakh over the duration of their degree, along with mentorship, industry exposure and a scholars’ network.
The last date to submit the application is 5 October 2026, 11:59 pm IST. Reference letters from your referees must reach the foundation by 12 October 2026. The foundation has clearly stated that no extension will be given to the application deadline.

What the scholarship offers
- A grant of up to Rs 6 lakh in total over the duration of the degree programme.
- 80% of the grant is released in advance at the start of each academic year for tuition and direct academic expenses.
- The remaining 20% is released on request, to support professional development such as conferences and training.

Eligibility for the Reliance Foundation PG Scholarship 2026-27
- The applicant must be a resident Indian citizen.
- The applicant must be a first-year, full-time postgraduate student in an eligible degree programme.
- Eligible programmes include Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics and Computing, Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable and New Energy, Material Science and Engineering, and Life Sciences.
- Academic requirement: a GATE 2026 score between 550 and 1000, or an undergraduate CGPA of 7.5 and above (or the equivalent percentage normalised to CGPA).
- Students from all institutes in India can apply, as long as they meet the eligibility criteria.
The following students are not eligible: second-year postgraduate students, students pursuing integrated MTech and PhD programmes, students in online, remote, distance, hybrid or part-time modes, students who studied only Mathematics and want to apply under Mathematics and Computing, and applicants who do not attempt the mandatory aptitude test.
Selection process
- Registration: create an account on the official scholarship website using your personal email ID.
- Application form: fill in your personal, academic and extra-curricular details, upload the supporting documents, and submit two letters of reference – one for academic ability and one for character and leadership.
- Essays: write the personal statement and the statement of purpose.
- Aptitude test: all applicants must take an online test of 60 minutes with 60 multiple choice questions covering verbal ability, analytical and logical reasoning, and numerical ability.
- Evaluation: applications are evaluated by an expert panel of industry experts and academicians.
- Interview: shortlisted candidates attend a virtual interview with the panel.
- Selection: up to 100 scholars are announced on the basis of merit.
