What is the Mahindra All India Talent Scholarship (MAITS)?
MAITS was started by the K. C. Mahindra Education Trust in 1995. Its purpose is to encourage young students from rural and urban areas to take up job-oriented diploma courses instead of stopping after school. The trust works with recognised Government Polytechnic Institutes across India, and the scholarship is meant for students who would otherwise struggle to fund a diploma.
Since it began, more than 13,490 students have received the Mahindra All India Talent Scholarship across the country. The Trust awards it to 550 students every year.
How much does MAITS pay?
| Amount per year | Rs. 10,000 |
| Number of scholars | 550 students every year (all India) |
| Maximum duration | Up to 3 years, for the duration of the diploma course |
| Mode of payment | Paid to the scholar’s bank account, as per the trust’s process |
The scholarship is Rs. 10,000 per annum and runs for a maximum of three years. It is not a one-time payment – a scholar who keeps meeting the trust’s conditions continues to receive it each year of the diploma.
