What is the University of Glasgow UPES Scholarship?
Glasgow says it is "delighted to announce a 20% fee waiver for students on one of our UofG-UPES articulation programmes". An articulation programme is a partnership pathway: students who begin their studies at UPES (University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun) can progress into a linked degree at Glasgow, and this discount reduces the fee for that Glasgow stage.
The eligible country is India only, and the eligible programme is Software Engineering, in partnership with UPES. So this award is aimed squarely at Indian students on that specific pathway rather than at all international applicants.
How much is the University of Glasgow UPES Scholarship worth?
- Value: 20% tuition fee waiver
- Number of scholarships: 60
- Paid as: a reduction on your tuition fees for the eligible programme
- Extra application: none – the discount is awarded automatically
Who is eligible for the UPES Scholarship?
To qualify, you must:
- be accepted onto the UofG-UPES articulation programme,
- hold International or EU fee status,
- be from India (India is the only eligible country for this award), and
- hold an offer to study on one of the eligible programmes.
Note the phrase "be accepted onto the articulation programme" – the scholarship follows the pathway, so you need to be admitted to that partnership route first.
Which programme is covered?
The university lists a single eligible programme for this scholarship:
- Software Engineering (in partnership with UPES)
If your pathway at UPES leads to a different Glasgow degree, this particular waiver does not apply. Indian students on other Glasgow pathways can look at the university’s other country awards such as the World Changers India Excellence Award.
