What is the World Changers India Excellence Award?
Glasgow’s World Changers awards support high-achieving international students who want to make a positive contribution to their community. The India edition is aimed specifically at students from India who are starting a one-year postgraduate taught master’s at the university.
The university describes the award as a way to help exceptional Indian students develop their knowledge and skills at Glasgow. It is awarded as a tuition fee waiver for one year only, so it reduces the cost of your master’s but is not a full-ride scholarship.
Scholarship value and what it covers
- The award is a £12,500 tuition fee waiver for one year of study.
- It is applied against your tuition fees – it is not paid to you as cash and it does not cover accommodation, travel or living expenses.
- Up to 12 scholarships are available in the 2027/28 round.
- Recipients still have to meet the UKVI living costs / financial requirement for a student visa in their own right.
- The award cannot be combined with other Glasgow discounts or scholarships (the only exception is the Alumni Discount). If you are offered more than one award, the lower-value award is removed from your account.
Eligibility: who can apply
According to the university’s official page, to be eligible you must:
- Be an international student from India – you must be domiciled in India and hold a passport issued by India.

- Hold an offer of a place for a one-year postgraduate taught master’s programme for the September 2027 intake, in any discipline.
- Be able to meet the UKVI living costs / financial requirement as an international student.
