The World Changers Global Excellence Scholarship is an annual tuition fee discount of £10,000 or £7,000 given by the University of Glasgow to new international and EU undergraduate students starting in 2027. India is on the university’s published eligible-country list, so Indian school-leavers applying for a Glasgow bachelor’s degree can use it.
Unlike a competition, this award is guaranteed at published A Level or IB grades and needs no separate scholarship application. This page covers the exact value by college, the grades that trigger the award, the eligible courses and how the discount reaches your fee account.

What is the World Changers Global Excellence Scholarship?
Glasgow describes it as an award for new International and EU (non-UK) undergraduate students entering the university in 2027. The university says it has a number of these scholarships available, and the award is given as a reduction on your tuition fees rather than as a cash payment.
The value depends on which academic college your degree sits in, and the award renews every year of your studies as long as your academic progress is satisfactory.
How much is the scholarship worth?
- £10,000 per year of study for students in the College of Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences and the College of Science and Engineering
- £7,000 per year of study for students in the College of Arts and the College of Social Sciences
- Renewable: the discount is given in each year of study, subject to satisfactory academic progress
- How it is paid: as a discount on your tuition fees, not as cash
Because the discount repeats every year, a four-year degree in Science and Engineering can be worth up to £40,000 in total, and a four-year degree in Arts or Social Sciences up to £28,000.
Who is eligible for the World Changers Global Excellence Scholarship?
Glasgow lists three conditions. You must:
- have International or EU (non-UK) fee status,
- hold an offer of a place for an undergraduate programme for 2027,
- demonstrate excellent academic achievement before starting university – the grades listed in the next section guarantee a scholarship offer.
For offers made on the basis of predicted grades, Glasgow states that the scholarship may be withdrawn if your final exam results do not meet the grades listed. So the award is safe only once the required grades are actually achieved.
Grades that guarantee the scholarship (A Level and IB)
The university publishes the A Level and International Baccalaureate (or local equivalent) grades that guarantee a scholarship offer, by school and programme. Key rows:
| College of Arts – MA Hons (except MA Psychology) | AAB (A Level) / 36 (IB) |
| College of Arts – MA Arts Psychology | AAA / 38 |
| Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences – all programmes except Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine and BSc Psychology | AAB / 36 |
| BSc Psychology | AAA / 38 |
| School of Computing Science – first year entry | A*AA / 39 |
| School of Computing Science – Faster Route | A*A*A / 40 |
| James Watt School of Engineering – BEng | AAB / 36 |
| James Watt School of Engineering – MEng | A*AA / 39 |
| School of Law | A*AA / 39 |
| Adam Smith Business School | AAA / 38 |
Glasgow asks applicants who are unsure about equivalences for other qualifications to contact the university before relying on the award.
Eligible countries and eligible programmes
The eligible-country list is long and includes India – it covers most of Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas as well as the UK’s EU partners. The eligible-programme list is equally wide: it spans accountancy and finance, aeronautical, biomedical and mechanical engineering, computing science and artificial intelligence, mathematics and statistics, biological and marine sciences, law, business and management, psychology, politics and international relations, and the arts.
Because the list is long and changes as programmes are added, check your exact degree against the official scholarship page before you count on the discount.
