How much is the Stirling Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship worth?
- The award is a £7,000 tuition fee waiver for new students in the first year of a Masters degree – it is not a cash payment and it is not repeated for the second year.
- 100 awards are published for the September 2026 and January 2027 intakes combined.
- The scholarship is applied to your tuition fees only, so you still need to fund your living costs and the remainder of the fee yourself or through other means.
- It cannot be combined with any other University of Stirling scholarship or award. If you are offered more than one Stirling award, only the highest-value award is applied.
Who is eligible for this Stirling scholarship?
The published eligibility rules are specific. You must:
- hold a conditional or unconditional offer for an eligible postgraduate taught course at the University of Stirling – an application without a valid offer will not be assessed;
- be a new student starting in September 2026, January 2027, September 2027 or January 2028;
- be classed as an International student for tuition fee purposes;
- be a self-funded student – applicants receiving external sponsorship or another scholarship are not eligible;
- enter directly into a full-time postgraduate degree delivered at the university’s Stirling campus – online degrees are not eligible;
- pay the £1,000 scholarship deposit to secure the award by the deadline on your scholarship offer letter.
There is a category of students who are not eligible even though they are international: students progressing from an INTO Pre-Masters course cannot apply for this scholarship, though they may qualify for INTO Progression scholarships instead.
