The University of Findlay is a private university in Findlay, Ohio, that awards its international merit scholarships automatically, with no separate scholarship form. Every admitted international first-year student is matched to one of five merit tiers that pay between US$18,500 and US$25,000 a year towards tuition, and a 30 ACT or 1360 SAT score adds another US$2,000.

The 2027 intake matters for two dates: the spring (January) application deadline is 10 November 2026 and the fall (August) deadline is 20 June 2027. Because the scholarship comes with the admission offer, the admission deadline is the scholarship deadline.

Merit scholarships for international first-year students
The published merit grid for the 2026-27 academic year is the one Findlay applies to international applicants. It is test-optional: a strong GPA alone can carry the award, and the university always applies the highest amount the student qualifies for.
| Trustee: 4.0+ GPA, ACT 27 / SAT 1290 / CLT 89 | US$25,000 a year |
| Presidential: 3.9 GPA, ACT 24 / SAT 1190 / CLT 79 | US$24,000 a year |
| Deans: 3.65 GPA, ACT 21 / SAT 1090 / CLT 67 | US$22,500 a year |
| Faculty: 3.3 GPA, no test score needed | US$20,000 a year |
| Merit: 3.29 GPA or lower | US$18,500 a year |
| 30+ ACT or 1360+ SAT | Extra US$2,000 on top of the merit award |
The Classic Learning Test (CLT) is accepted alongside the ACT and SAT. Findlay states that a student with a 30 ACT or 1360 SAT or higher receives an extra US$2,000 added to the merit award, so the top of the grid is US$27,000 a year for a Trustee-level applicant with that score.
Transfer and graduate awards
- Transfer merit: US$25,000 for a 3.5+ transfer GPA, US$22,500 for 3.0 to 3.5, US$18,500 up to 2.99, based on cumulative transfer GPA.
- An associate degree adds another US$1,000 to the transfer award.
- International Graduate Scholarship: US$750 per academic semester, summer excluded.
- IELP Merit Scholarship for students in the Intensive English Language Program: US$750 per academic semester, summer excluded.
Eligibility for Indian applicants
- You must be admitted to a Findlay undergraduate, transfer or graduate programme as an international student.
- Undergraduate merit is decided on high-school GPA and, if submitted, ACT, SAT or CLT scores – the university is test-optional.
- Transfer merit is decided on the cumulative GPA of your previous college work.
- Graduate and IELP awards are flat US$750-per-semester awards and do not depend on a test score.
- Findlay welcomes students from around 35 countries and territories, and the scholarships described here are open to all international applicants.
Application deadlines for 2027 entry
| Spring (January) intake, undergraduate and graduate | 10 November 2026 |
| Fall (August) intake, undergraduate and graduate | 20 June 2027 |
The 10 November 2026 date is the one to act on now: it is the last date for a spring 2027 start, and a late file means waiting until August 2027 for the next intake. The fall deadline of 20 June 2027 is generous, but scholarship money is finite and early files are read first.
